A Race to the Rocks, aka Race Rocks!

We've been planning this fishing trip since last year, when the Mrs. and I "stumbled" upon the utopia called Pedder Bay RV Resort and Marina.  Pedder Bay is owned by the Oak Bay Marine Group and managed by Martin Paish, who booked us into one of the best RV sites in the Resort.  With a view to kill for, the site (photo) overlooked Pedder Bay and the Marina, along with the ever moving inlet right below the campsite, thanks Martin!  Check them out at http://www.pedderbay.com

We had convinced our kids, well, it didn't take much convincing, to join us on our excursion back to Pedder, so, my daughter Ondrea and her fiancé Stefan were more than stoked to come along with Mom and Dad!  My daughter never has been a big "fisher person" but Stefan is a Manitoba boy who is used cranking in walleye or pike.  Neither of them has ever set foot on the ocean or tried their hand at salmon fishing, so, who better than the Fish Whisperer to break them in!

We did a round about trip to get to Pedder, camping along the way at Parksville and then out to Long Beach on the West Coast of Vancouver Island for a few days.  I found a place along the way called Storland where I left my boat, rather than carting it along that windy road to Long Beach.  The folks at Storland were great, as was the compound area.  If your ever looking for somewhere to keep whatever while on a trip over there, I'd highly recommend them, email storland@shaw.ca.       (NEXT PAGE)
