For Us Hard of Seeing Anglers!

Just another "holy crap, I didn't know that" tip from the Captain!  I recently unburdened myself of eye glasses, 40 years of the things and finally said enough was enough.  Its a real treat to be able to read the SIN # on a gnats ass at 100 yds now but, I now am unable to read anything within 2' of my noodle!  That's the trade-off and one I don't mind it at all, using reading glasses 10% of the time instead of "seeing" glasses 90% of the time works for me!

I have found that reading glasses can be a bit of a pain when it comes to outdoor activities, always having to carry a pair of the wee things along so I can now tie a knot or read something.  This is especially true when doing almost any sort of outdoor activity, and more so when sunglasses of some sort are also needed.  A recent trip to Princess Auto alleviated some of these problems in the form of safety sunglasses that also incorporate a reading lens in the lower portion of the lens.  Now this might not seem like a big deal to those of you that can read or see up close with no problem but for us sledders, hunters, anglers, ATV's etc etc that need that up close vision at various times during the day, these cheapo shades are the cats sphincter!!  At 15 bucks you can keep a pair in various spots and they come in clear or tinted.  Beats paying $100 or more for some fancy dancy sunglasses that you know your gonna break or lose!  Just a thought.......
